A Workaround for the checkbox bug in Google Chrome - or - The Case of the Missing Checkboxes

Intermittently (and with higher frequency lately) Google Chrome has been not displaying the checkboxes on web pages.  The checkboxes are still there and you can click them, but you won't know that you've clicked them unless there is some other visual clue on the page besides the checkbox itself.

This is being tracked as Issue #3543 (among others for sure).  I'm running Windows XP Professional SP3.  I'm not sure if this bug is found on Mac and/or Linux builds of Chrome.  What I do know is that there seems to be a workaround to get them back without restarting your computer and without even closing chrome.

Here's the workaround to bring the checkboxes back:
When you encounter the bug bring up the Windows Task Manager (taskmgr.exe) and browse to any page in another tab.  Then go back to the offending tab and you should have your checkboxes back.

I always have the task manager running in my system tray so it's very easy for me to do this workaround.  You can bring it up quickly with the key combo CTRL+SHIFT+ESC.  Alternatively you can go to the Start Menu then Run and type in 'taskmgr' or use CTRL+ALT+DEL (but depending on your system that may not directly bring up the task manager but instead multiple options with the task manager being one of the buttons).
