A Flickr Set of the doubleTwist ad next to the Apple Store

Techcrunch posted a story earlier today about this, and will probably update more than the one time so far. This is developing...

@jonlech just posted a link from a tipster of someone (a cop?) tearing the ad down.
He also mentioned that the ad would be back up on Tuesday, lamenting that it would not be up on Monday for the anticipated
iPhone announcement. WWDC does go on all week though, and I bet that doubleTwist is going to get a prorated discount since
the ad will have been down a couple days.

Testing Some New Posting Options

I'm trying to post two pictures from flickr - they should show up below. They may just show as links.  If that's the case, then I'll have to keep trying.

Robert Scoble on TWiT Live with Leo Laporte

The stickam stream froze as the interview was wrapping up. So I
grabbed a quick screen-shot since @Scobleizer had such a great
expression on his face.

My New Favorite Tech Personality - Robert Scoble

Great post about celebrity vs authority or why it's better to care about who you follow online than who follows you.

Now, to be fair, the post that started this mess, from Loic Le Meur, had a good goal: to make it possible to find better tweets in searches. In other words, to separate the news from the noise. Except Loic used the word “authority” and hooked it to popularity: the number of followers one has.

...
My goal, though, is to have smarter conversations every day. Does anyone else care about that goal?

I do.

Also don't miss Scoble interviewing Tim O'Reilly. There are two parts. First a flip-cam quick interview where Tim answers some questions from FriendFeed users (24 minutes unedited). Second, the 'real' interview that is being hailed as the 'interview of the year'.

Digg Story: GM Said to Study Shedding Saab, Saturn, Pontiac

I work at a Cadillac/Hummer/Saab/Saturn Dealership and this article is worth the read. Very informative read even though I already knew most of the details. Apparently the Directors of the GM brands will be meeting early next week to review this new plan. meta/Sometimes not knowing how things will end up is a good thing./meta

Digg the story here.

Also, here's a link to the printable version for those who want to
just read the article

Also, something interesting to me is that Buick is HUGE in China. That might help to sell it, but also would be a good reason to keep the brand.

If I had to guess I'd say that Pontiac will probably get the axe, and who knows, Saab may get sold. Saturn has a dwindling base and may get the axe too. GM tried to save it by rolling it up into the rest of GM and I think that may actually have helped kill it (if that does happen).
